Depending on the facts of your claim and applicable law, potential remedies may include a vehicle buyback, replacement, or negotiated cash settlement. Our team evaluates the repair history and pursues the remedy available for your circumstances.
From reviewing repair orders and warranty records to communicating with the manufacturer, our team manages the legal process so you do not have to handle a Hyundai lemon law claim alone.
A Hyundai lemon law claim may begin when a significant warranty-covered problem continues after the manufacturer or authorized dealership has had reasonable opportunities to repair it.
Repeated engine problems, transmission concerns, electrical faults, safety-system issues, or extended periods in the repair shop can all make a detailed repair history especially important.
Hyundai has also issued safety recalls and service campaigns affecting particular models, model years, components, and powertrains. An applicable Hyundai engine recall can provide useful information about a known issue, but a recall does not automatically mean a vehicle qualifies as a lemon.
Recall coverage should be confirmed using the individual vehicle's VIN, while lemon law eligibility depends on factors such as warranty coverage, the nature of the defect, repair attempts, and applicable law.
Dealing with repeated dealership repairs can be frustrating enough without having to determine which legal rules apply.
Our lemon law attorneys focus on lemon law and consumer warranty disputes and have handled thousands of vehicle cases involving hundreds of different models.

Resolution
If the facts support a claim, our team handles communication with the manufacturer and pursues the appropriate available remedy.
California's Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act provides remedies when a qualifying vehicle cannot be repaired to conform to its applicable express warranties after a reasonable number of attempts.
For qualifying new motor vehicles, California law provides for replacement or restitution when the statutory requirements are met. The buyer may elect restitution instead of accepting a replacement.
Whether those protections apply to a particular Hyundai depends on the vehicle, warranty, repair history, and circumstances of the claim.
You may qualify if:

A particular defect, complaint, or recall does not automatically establish a lemon law claim. What matters is the individual vehicle's warranty and repair history and whether a substantial problem continues despite reasonable repair opportunities. California lemon law buyback process: For a qualifying California vehicle, restitution can include the actual price paid or payable, qualifying manufacturer-installed options, applicable taxes, registration and official fees, and certain incidental damages. California law also permits an applicable deduction based on vehicle use before the first repair attempt for the problem that gave rise to the nonconformity.
Some claims may resolve through a negotiated monetary settlement. Whether a cash settlement is available and whether the consumer keeps the vehicle depend on the individual claim and settlement terms.
California law also provides a replacement remedy for qualifying new motor vehicles. A buyer who qualifies for the statutory remedy may elect restitution instead of being required to accept a replacement.

Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act — California's principal consumer warranty statute establishes warranty-repair obligations and replacement or restitution remedies when a qualifying new motor vehicle cannot be brought into conformity with its applicable express warranties after a reasonable number of repair attempts.
Tanner Consumer Protection Act — Establishes a rebuttable presumption regarding a reasonable number of repair attempts in specified circumstances within the first 18 months or 18,000 miles, whichever occurs first.
Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act — Federal warranty law may provide additional remedies for consumers when written warranty obligations are not honored.

Repeated Hyundai repairs should not leave you guessing about your rights. If your Hyundai continues to experience a significant warranty-related problem after repair attempts, our attorneys can review the repair history and explain whether you may qualify for a Hyundai lemon law buyback, replacement, settlement, or another available remedy.
